I wanna be in this video too !
Ah yes ... Pamela Anderson. How can we forget her in the last video she participated for Lit's "Miserable"in 1999? click here > to see video. According to Wikipedia sources, the song "My Own Worst Enemy" also from the 1999 album "A Place In The Sun" which coincidentally houses this MM Vol 2 title track [drum roll ...] "Zip-Lock", is their largest selling single. Personally, me love "Miserable" better and not just for the obvious reasons. Its a damn good song. [stop saying "whatever"]
"Zip-Lock" [the song, not the bag] is a good song in its own right too, has to be, it features Blink 182 in the video that accompanies the song ! OK, its not a very good reason .. but maybe Pamela Anderson was unavailable for this particular vid, probably to busy making her own with Tommy Lee of Motley Crue.
AJ Popoff
Their first major-label release (for RCA) sees California rockers Lit mellow the grunge-lite-punk-metal assault of their first two albums in favor of airbrushed, radio-friendly power pop. The result is an album that is sonically more focused, with its buzzing guitars and singsong vocals. Lyrically, the Popoff brothers have a way with words, and they lyrics are full of ironic angst and clever self-deprecation. The playing is tight and crisp. A couple of songs really stand out: "Miserable" brings vocalist Jay Popoff's Elvis Costello impression to the fore and "Quicksand" sparkles. ~ [Leslie Mathew, All Music Guide]
Allan Shellenberger [1970 - 2009]
On May 5, 2008 it was announced that Lit's drummer, Allen Shellenberger, was diagnosed with a malignant glioma (brain tumor). On July 26, 2008, Lit held a benefit for Allen at House Of Blues in Anaheim, California. A number of bands performed including Sugar Ray and Handsome Devil. No Doubt drummer Adrian Young filled in for Shellenberger on the drums for a few songs. Both drummers also played at the same time for a few songs. Shellenberger died on August 13, 2009, at the age of 39.
So its 2010 .... What are they up to? In April 2010 during an interview with OC Talk Radio, Lit hinted they are currently talking with and would return to a major label for their next release. They also revealed they are working on a new management deal as well as performing new material live. Lit has yet to announce the release of any new material or a projected time frame for their next album. ~ [Source: Wikipedia] - that's good news .... they rock and are to good just to be idle.
